If you haven't been to Tupelo's Elvis Festival, it's a lot of fun. We have quite a bit going on during this tournament's weekend, and it's worth the night's stay. Heck, if you wanted to have hotel stays on Friday and Saturday night, I'm sure you will be entertained!
I bet you might have a few "Elvis Sightings" while your here.

Be Aware: the Running with the King 5K Run on Saturday, June 6th @ 8:00 am - Veterans Park, will force you to park your vehicles in another area. Either get there early to the Pavilion near tee-box #1, or you will be blocked out by the traffic police for the 5K run. That means you will have to walk a ways to get registered. We will be looking for late stragglers during registration.....
Shown Below, #9 basket is in it's Sunday's "KING" position for the FWTK tournament. It's estimated to be appx. 675 feet and is placed well beyond the Indian mound. Listen to the TD's Announcements for OB rules, and which #10 Tee-Box to play from.

plus a Revolution disc golf bag is being kicked in to hold all this stuff! It's a whole Elvis collection! Over time, there's no tellin' the value of this deal!
Come on down to Tupelo and be a part of a great weekend of disc golf!
1) It costs $1 or $2 per qualification throw (determined by the tournament TD). ---a) To qualify for the final round, each contestant may throw as many times as the contestant wants. -------*) Example: Contestant throws 12 times (costing $12 @ $1 per throw), and qualifies 8 of those throws for the final round.
---b) Before each throw, the contestant must have the correct amount of cash, and hand it to the main person running the event. -------*) Cash Only: Change for a $20 bill might be available, but be patient! (there will be many contestants who are ready to throw)
2) To qualify for the final round: ---a) Contestant must get the thrown disc inside the 10ft radius circle (20ft dia) of the basket that is about 120ft to 150ft from the tee position.
---b) Making it in the basket is also a qualified throw (nice qualifying throw - now do that again during the final round!)
---c) The more discs that the contestant has qualified, the more throws during the final round the contestant gets.
---d) Qualifying times of the day will vary, and will be administered by the same person (or by the TD's disgression).
3) Final round procedures: ---a) Per contestant: For the same amount of throws that the contestant qualified, then that same amount shall allow the contestant to throw for the win. -------*) Example: Contestant qualified 8 discs ~~ Now the contestant gets 8 final throws to win the event.
---b) Each contestant must throw the total amount of qualified throws when announced to step up to the tee position. -------*) Example: Contestant qualified 8 discs ~~ Now 8 final round throws must occur while standing at tee position (no fetching "thrown" discs.)
---c) There shall be only 1 winner. -------*) Toss that is closest to the basket wins. -------*) Toss that is the only one to land in the basket wins. -------*) If more than 1 contestant has made their toss in the basket (resulting in a temporary tie), then there will be a "throw-off" between those tied contestants.

NOTICE: Please be advised the the "Running with the King" 5K event will be held at Veterans park Saturday morning. Police will halt all traffic in/out of the park from about 7:45am until 8:30am. If you are volunteering, or planning on getting some practice in ... please note this fact and arrive early! Parking may be available across Veterans Drive past #6 basket in the softball field parking lot.
There will be designated parking areas for the tournament. Try and use them. We are competing with the Spray Park and picnic events at Veterans more than ever. Please remember that this is their park as well and most of these participants are "clueless: as to the sport of disc golf and our tournament. I urge any interaction with non-disc golfers to be respectful and courteous as it will be a reflection on our sport! There will be someone managing any parking issues that may arise that affectsa the course layout.
